BAG THE PINK

In a move to support British supermarket retailer ASDA’s Tickled Pink initiative, Coca Cola is bringing out 10 babies pink Diet Coke cans, starting October 1. The brands will raise money for breast cancer research and support is done by two leading charities, Breast Cancer Now and Breast Cancer Care. Those who find a pink can win a prize too. Besides this, Coke is also launching a limited edition, designer tote bag for this campaign.

POWER OF KIDS

The teen and young adult wing of CanKids, KidscanKonnect, organized a two-day national conference, which was followed by the 10th Annual National Childhood Cancer Awareness Excellence Programme. Over 100 young cancer survivors from across the country attended the conference, which had Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel, as the Chief Guest.

SCREEN IT EARLY

Fujifilm is partnering with the Indian Cancer Society to conduct 18 medical camps to create awareness about breast cancer awareness, mostly self-examination. Three mobile screening camps were already held in Delhi, where 180 women were screened. The camps offer free breast cancer screening for women above 40 years of age residing in slums.

BLUE FOR THE WIN

New Zealand recently witnessed the rise of the Bikers in Blue, a nationwide event in support of the Blue September, a one-month campaign helmed by the Prostate Cancer Foundation. In Wellington alone, over 200 leather-clad bikers attended the event, raising $8,ooo towards cancer awareness and prevention. One in eight males are likely to develop prostate cancer, and the campaign wished to spread the message that a simple blood test could save lives.
