Tata Harrier

Tata has aimed at setting a new standard among SUVs with the new Harrier, to be launched in January 2019. The highlight of the much-awaited model is Impact 2.0, a new design language from Tata Motors, previously seen in Nexon. The MultiDrive Mode 2.0 has three engine drive modes: Eco, City, and Sport. This, combined with the ESP Terrain Response Modes, means that no territory is hard to cover. The Kryotel Turbocharged Diesel Engine offers a torque of 350Nm. The safety features on the Harrier include 6 airbags, advanced ESP, and specially-designed crumple areas. Other features that stand out include the rain-sensing wipers, electrically foldable mirrors, and convenient utility storages.

Mahindra Alturas G4

The new Alturas G4 from Mahindra is now out in India. The company’s chief SUV offering is only available with a diesel engine option. When compared with its predecessor, the Alturas G4 has larger dimensions and offers more value, with its projector headlamps and 20-inch alloy wheels. The infotainment system has an 8-inch touchscreen integrated with Android Auto, Apple Carplay, 3D view cameras, and parking assist. The Alturas G4 stands out for its safety features, which include 9 airbags, Electronic Stability Program, Active Rollover Protection, hill descent control, and a brake assist system. It’s capacity and safety specs make it the best choice as a family vehicle.

Jawa 42

‘Retro’ is all you can think when you see the new Jawa bikes. After a wait of more than two decades, Jawa motorcycles are making a blast-from-the-past comeback with the Jawa, Jawa 42 and Jawa Perak. The liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine of Jawa 42 generates 27bhp of power and 28Nm of torque. What stands out in the design of the Jawa 42 is its timelessness. Here is a motorcycle that has adapted a classic design to the needs of modern engineering.

Royal Enfield Continental GT 650

Drawing inspiration from the café racer culture of the 50s, the RE Continental GT 650 is a perfect blend of the vintage and the modern. The good-looking motorcycle features a 648cc counterbalanced parallel-twin engine and a six-speed gearbox that produces 47bhp at 7250rpm and 52Nm torque at 5250rpm. The GT 650 pulls smoothly from low revs to the redline without any sign of mechanical distress. What’s more, the GT 650 also comes with a unique fuel tank design, clip-on handlebars, and footpegs positioned towards the rear, all of which creates space for a sportier riding position. With a friendly throttle response and spot-on fuelling, rest assured no on-off jerkiness while riding.
