CLASSIC REEL: Madhumati

The stunning out-of-the-world love story revolves around the urbane Anand who falls in love with a tribal woman. Unable to meet up in their lifetimes, they are born again. A potboiler with a noir feel to it, Madhumati notched up a host of Filmfare Awards and the National Award for the Best Feature Film in Hindi. Almost every track from the movie was a hit, and remains so to this day, from Dil tadap tadap ke keh Raha hai to Chadh gayo paapi bichua and Aaja re pardesi.
