Awara

The Raj Kapoor-directed film, in which he also acted in the lead role, tells the story of a vagabond (Kapoor) and the wealthy Rita (played commendably by Nargis). Awāra was a hit not just in India but in Russia, Africa, and the Middle East as well. It also made it to TIME magazine’s list of All-Time 100 Greatest Films. Also famous for the songs Awara hoon and Ghar Aaya Mera Pardesi.
