It all began in 1981, with Dr. Sushil Shah’s vision of establishing advanced diagnostic units offering specialized testing facilities in India. Over three decades later, Metropolis Healthcare now stands as one of the country’s leading pathology specialists. The company plays a significant role in oncology diagnosis, more so in the field of surgical pathology; its focus is on accurate diagnosis by means of providing comprehensive cancer test options. The diagnostic giant ties up with international institutions for second opinion studies and is equipped with an expert panel of onco-pathologists. Metropolis Founder & Chairman, Dr. Shah, elaborates on his company’s vision, “At Metropolis, we envision an India that benefits from global standards of pathology. With this intent guiding the nuts and bolts of the organization, Metropolis has gone pan India and internationally as well.” An alarming statistic revealed that for every 2,000 cancer patients, there was only one oncologist available. To bridge this gap, Metropolis launched Oncomet, a revolutionary concept of conclusive cancer diagnosis, which provides a cost-effective and prompt diagnosis to patients. Metropolis has an efficient system, comprising over 4,000 employees, a 100-member scientific team, an expansive logistics network, and the latest equipment. Metropolis Managing Director Ameera Shah has helped revolutionize the pathology industry from being a doctor-led practice to a professional corporate setting in a highly competitive and fragmented market.

AT PRESENT, THE DIAGNOSTIC CENTRE HAS AN EFFICIENT BODY COMPRISING OVER 4,000 EMPLOYEES, A 100-MEMBER SCIENTIFIC TEAM, AN EXPANSIVE LOGISTICS NETWORK, AND THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT.

Completing the trio is Vijender Singh, the CEO of Metropolis, who has helped steer the company to greater heights. The company has set itself apart from its counterparts by virtue of its commitment towards delivering high standard services. With over 150 labs and 1,500 diagnostic units across seven countries, the company continues to expand its presence in international markets. Metropolis is constantly working towards becoming the number one chain of labs across the world. What sets it apart is not just its superlative standard of service or its stellar technological development, but it’s a comprehensive organ-specific test menu that enables diagnosis of every cancer type. The cancer test menu alone comprises nearly 600 tests. Every day, the company experiments with newer technologies and improves the existing ones to deliver its best to both clinicians and patients. Recently, in a first-of-its-kind move in India, Metropolis launched digital pathology, a dynamic, image-based environment that enables the acquisition, management, and interpretation of pathology information generated from a digitized glass slide. When it comes to giving back to society, Metropolis is always a few steps ahead of the rest.

With a collective goal of bringing about a positive change in the nation, the company has executed impactful campaigns and numerous workshops. For these activities, it partners with corporate houses, educational institutions, government bodies, NGOs and a host of other like-minded organizations. Metropolis’ camps and workshops emphasize on preventive healthcare and early screening for diseases. Some of its associations and initiatives include the TooShyToAsk app, the Med-Engage programme, Conquer PCOS, Epilepsy Foundation, HepFree India, and Jeevan Jyot Cancer Trust. The mark has been made, but that does not mean the race is over. Adhering to its core values of integrity, accuracy, and empathy, Metropolis hopes to continue delivering superior services through operational excellence and relentless commitment

“WE ENVISION AN INDIA THAT BENEFITS FROM GLOBAL STANDARDS OF PATHOLOGY, WITH IMPECCABLE FOCUS ON QUALITY AND CONTINUOUS ON-GROUND RESEARCH.”
