Foundation of Hope

Established by Yuvraj Singh in July 2012, YouWeCan hopes to spread awareness about the fatal disease that cancer is. During the days he spent in the US undergoing treatment for a rare germ-cell cancer, the cricketer hoped to send out one strong message to all those battling cancers: ‘Fight.’ The foundation focuses on educating cancer survivor kids and setting up mobile cancer-detection camps to make early detection accessible to the deserving. Through its online portal, the NGO transforms every single penny it receives in donation into a smile on the face of a survivor kid. Battling the disease, he feels, has enabled him to empathize with the increasing number of children putting up similar fights. Since its founding, the NGO has organized several sports events, fairs, seminars, and lectures as a means of educating people about cancer and its effects. So far, YouWecan has successfully helped educate over 100 children and has conducted nearly 1 lakh oral and breast cancer screenings. Ever since his recovery and return to the game, Yuvraj has been a crusader in the fight against cancer, and through his foundation, he is making sure that no one runs the race alone. In October 2017, the cricketer launched an offsite center for the NGO at Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences, Solan. Together with the support of various social and educational organizations, YouWeCan is forging ahead on its path to making a difference.
